|
Scores are reported as National Percentile Ranks (NPR), which show how
well students in this district scored on this test in relation to others
across the country. For example, if the NPR is 45, it means that students
in this district scored as well or better than 44% of students who took
the same test. The average for all NPRs on the Stanford 9 is 50.

About the Stanford 9 test:
Who takes it and what's it about?
Arizona students in grades 1-9 take the Stanford Achievement Test, Ninth
Edition (Stanford 9) each spring. The Stanford 9 measures basic skills in
reading, language and math, including computation and grammar. It is a timed,
multiple choice test; students must work quickly to complete all the questions.
How should I use the results?
The Stanford 9 IS good for: Seeing how well students are learning basic
skills and how their performance compares to students in other states.
The Stanford 9 IS NOT good for: Assessing progress towards specific Arizona
state standards, or understanding whether students are learning higher-level
skills, such as critical thinking. |
