City of Chandler
Description: Chandler is very much like Gilbert. They share similar traits as a farming community and hold many of the same demographic characteristics. The difference between Chandler and Gilbert is that it is closer to Phoenix, therefore it has more communities that are older. Chandler boomed earlier than Gilbert, because it was an easier commute to Phoenix, Tempe and Scottsdale.
Chandler has always been a farming town and therefore has many areas that house the farm laborers. These older, less desirable areas are mostly in downtown Chandler.
For the most part, Chandler is a great community with excellent neighborhoods to live in. It has many new homes as well as many older homes. It is a short hop skip and a jump over to any of the other cities in the area and can be a great place to raise a family.
Schools: Chandler schools are very similar to Gilbert, with the exception of having a diverse population. There are many different cultures that fit the farming community demographics of Chandler. The test scores in Chandler maintain above the national average.
