  City of Ahwatukee
Description: Ahwatukee is also a new community that is part of the City of Phoenix. It was basically a bare piece of land south of South Mountain that someone decided would make a great place to build homes. So they did in the 1970's and 80's and since then it has been one of the fastest growing communities in the country.

The problem with Ahwatukee isn't that the homes aren't new or the schools are bad. It's that it's on the other side of the mountain from Phoenix and is very difficult to get to downtown. There are only 2 or 3 on ramps to I-10 and in the morning, it makes it very difficult just to get on the freeway.

This is a great community with a lot of great neighborhoods and schools, just try to stay away from rush hour.

Schools:Ahwatukee schools are great schools and are relatively new schools. There have been many new elementary and high schools built in the area within the past 10 years. There schools always test above the national average.
